A DRUNK who was kicked out of an Elermore Vale pub was on the run from police last night after he returned armed with a knife and demanded cash.

Police said the man held up the Croudace Road bottle shop about 9pm after he was refused service at the adjacent Shaft Tavern earlier in the evening for being heavily intoxicated.

He left the pub and purchased two longneck bottles of beer from the bottle shop but returned several minutes later and brandished a large knife at the attendant, who fled.

Police said the man opened the cash register and took a small amount of cash before leaving.

Police have described the man as about 180 centimetres tall, with a medium build and long brown hair in a ponytail.

He is believed to be aged in his mid-30s and was wearing green camouflage pattern pants and a white or cream jacket at the time of the robbery.
