Gunman Takes Cash In Pizza Hold-up

A MASKED man armed with a sawn-off firearm threatened staff and made off with cash from a Rutherford pizza shop.
Police believe the armed robber burst into the Domino's takeaway in West Mall Plaza shortly after 11pm on Thursday and menaced staff with the gun before leaping over the counter and demanding money.The two employees handed over money from the cash register and the bandit jumped back over the counter and fled.He was last seen running down Alexandra Avenue and getting into a silver 1990s model Mitsubishi Magna.Police are still investigating if a car matching that description found dumped a short distance away yesterday morning is the same one.Domino's staff were not allowed to speak to The Herald yesterday.The offender has been described as about 173 centimetres tall with a solid build.He was wearing a black jacket, jeans and a black balaclava during the robbery.
